Gahhhh I'm so excited :3 tonight I ordered a Brother SE400 sewing and embroidery machine, yay! I've been needing a new sewing machine and wanted to try embroidery to make my plushes better, so why not a two in one? There's a funny story that goes along with this really. I actually bought one back in January, or so I thought. I was looking for this model originally and I thought I saw it on the sign, so I went ahead and got it. A couple months later when I get around to unboxing it (homework, seriously why do you take all my time -_-) I was surprised to find out that it was JUST an embroidery machine and not the one I thought I bought. So I hurried back up to the store the other day and exchanged it, instead ordering the correct one on Amazon. That definitely taught me a lesson, make sure you check things out right after you buy them to see if it's actually the right thing xD
Nevertheless I have the machine on its way and I couldn't be more excited! As summer draws nearer with each passing day (just a little under 3 months) school will be out fairly soon. That means more time for new plushes and all that good stuff. With this new machine I hope to get a lot accomplished as far as making my plushes better quality as well as more of a variety. I've also ordered some minky, boosting the quality as well. The idea is that this minky will be used to make some pony scarves as well as pony plushes, which is the other thing I'm excited about.
Now that I will have the power to embroider eyes/whatever else some pony plushes might be in the works!

Surely they won't be the best at first, but I want to try. I'll first make a test copy for the pattern via some fleece because that minky is expensive, so I don't want to make too many mistakes ._. Even before all of that I have to actually figure out the process of taking an image and creating it into an embroidery file. That sort of puzzles me, but hopefully I'll have some luck with SewArt and a crap ton of YouTube tutorials. As soon as that's mastered then it should be smooth sailing from there.
What kinds of things do you guys think I should try? Different plush ideas? Things you'd like to see? Minky sewing tips for a newbie? I'd love some suggestions, or even comments in general :3 I think first pony up on the list is either going to be Rarity or Vinyl Scratch.
Man, if I can get good enough at this then maybe I would have a chance at selling at some cons. That would be awesome

Maybe get some good practice and be prepared for July when the next one around here rolls around. I don't know, I guess it doesn't hurt to hope I'll be that good some day. I sure have a long way to go, but it's a start
